Congratulations on your new kitten! 🎉Whether you just picked up your British Shorthair baby from us — or you're counting down the days — here’s a quick guide to help your kitten settle in safely and happily.

🍼 1. Make Their First Day Calm, Not Crowded

Kittens need time to adjust. Keep their first 24 hours quiet. Avoid big introductions or loud environments. Let them explore one small room at a time.

🍽 2. Stick With Familiar Food First

We recommend keeping your kitten on the same food they’ve been eating here for at least a week. Sudden changes can cause tummy trouble. Transition slowly if needed.

🧸 3. Keep Their Space Cozy

Set up a kitten corner with:

  • A soft bed or blanket (bonus if it smells like mom)

  • A shallow litter tray

  • Fresh water

  • Toys that don’t overstimulate

🩺 4. First Vet Visit Timing

We’ll tell you when their next vaccine or checkup is due. Bring all the paperwork we provided to your vet and ask them to confirm everything is on track.

💙 5. Socialization = Confidence

British Shorthairs are naturally calm, but they still need gentle handling, soft voices, and patience. Invite them to bond — don’t rush.

Raising a kitten is like raising a tiny royalty — they need comfort, attention, and a little bit of spoiling. If you ever need support, just reach out. We’re always here for our extended cat family! https://hopp.bio/britishshorthairct
